Sticky Ginger Loaf
Ingredients:
• 200g Plain Flour
• 1 tsp Borwick’s Baking Powder
• 1/2 tsp Borwick’s Bicarbonate of Soda
• 100g butter
• 100g golden syrup
• 75g brown sugar
• 2 tbsp ground ginger
• 1 egg
• 125ml milk
• Crystallised ginger for decoration (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
2. Melt the butter, syrup and sugar in a medium sized saucepan over a gentle heat until the sugar has dissolved.
3. Add the remaining ingredients and mix together well until all coated.
4. Pour into a greased loaf tin and bake for 50-60 minutes.
5. Allow to cool before removing from the loaf tin.
Delicious served warm or cold
