Gingerbread Biscuits
Ingredients:
• 225g Plain Flour, plus extra for dusting
• Salt
• Borwick's Bicarbonate of Soda: 2 teaspoons
• Ground Ginger: 1-2 teaspoons (depending on how strong you like it)
• Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
• 75g Unsalted Butter
• 100g Soft Brown Sugar
• 100g Golden Syrup
Method:
1. Sieve and mix all dry ingredients (excl. sugar)
2. Heat butter, sugar and syrup until dissolved.
3. Mix dry and wet ingredients to create a dough.
4. Chill for 30 minutes in the fridge.
5. Roll out dough and stamp out Gingerbread shapes.
6. Place into the oven for 10-15 minutes at 190°C(170°C fan), 340°F, Gas Mark 5
7. Once cooked, remove from oven and allow to cool before decorating with your toppings of choice.
